Senator Christopher “Bong” Go reaffirmed his support for technical-vocational education and skills development as trainees of the Haddison Technical Training and Education Center Inc. in Dagupan City, Pangasinan marked the completion of their TESDA training on October 3.

Go congratulated the graduates for completing their respective training programs and encouraged them to use the knowledge and practical skills they acquired as a pathway toward employment, livelihood or entrepreneurship.

For Go, technical-vocational education provides Filipinos with another route toward economic security, particularly for workers and young people seeking competencies that respond directly to the needs of industries and local communities.

He stressed that skills development should eventually translate into actual opportunities for graduates.

“Ang kasanayan na natutunan ninyo ay puhunan na maaari ninyong dalhin saan man kayo magpunta. Gamitin ninyo ito para magkaroon ng disenteng trabaho, sariling kabuhayan, at mas magandang kinabukasan para sa inyong pamilya,” Go said.

Go has consistently supported initiatives that widen access to technical and vocational training while strengthening the link between education, employment, livelihood and entrepreneurship.

He has also pushed measures aimed at helping Filipinos enter the workforce and become more economically self-reliant, including programs that reduce barriers faced by jobseekers and improve access to livelihood and small-business opportunities.

During the graduation activity held at the training center along McArthur Highway in Tapuac District, Dagupan City, Go’s team joined the trainees and conveyed the senator’s congratulations and support.

A total of 40 graduates were assisted during the activity. Go’s team distributed shirts, vitamins, balls, pens, and other items.

Go emphasized that government support should continue beyond graduation by helping skilled Filipinos connect with employers, livelihood programs, financing opportunities and other forms of assistance that can help them make productive use of their training.

“Hindi natatapos sa graduation ang inyong paglalakbay. Patuloy kayong matuto at pagbutihin ang inyong kasanayan. Ang mahalaga ay mabigyan kayo ng pagkakataong gamitin ang inyong natutunan upang umasenso,” Go said.

He likewise commended TESDA, Haddison Technical Training and Education Center Inc., trainers and other stakeholders for helping equip Filipinos with practical competencies that can lead to sustainable employment and livelihood.

Go said investments in skills development are especially important in communities where workers need accessible pathways to improve their qualifications, find jobs or establish their own sources of income.

He reiterated that he will continue supporting policies and programs that create more opportunities for Filipinos to acquire useful skills, secure decent work and build better lives for their families.
